Players can earn in-game content for both Halo Infinite and Halo: The Master Chief Collection by participating in Halo events on Twitch.tv. These rewards are called Twitch Drops and are only available for a limited time. The rewards and their unlock requirements can vary between events, so make sure to check the details of any event.

To earn Twitch Drops, you need to have a Twitch account and be signed into Twitch while you are earning the reward. See Create an Account with Twitch for more information.

Once you have earned a Twitch Drop it will be visible in your Twitch Drops Inventory. You need to link your Twitch account through Halo Waypoint before you can claim your rewards.

Important Notes on Twitch Drop Troubleshooting

  • For help with your Twitch account please contact Twitch support.
  • Halo Support cannot grant Twitch Drop rewards or assist with linking accounts.
  • If you recently changed your password on Twitch.tv, your Twitch account may have been unlinked from Halo Waypoint. Follow the instructions included in Step 1 below to relink your accounts.
  • If you've completed the Drop's requirements on Twitch and your accounts are correctly linked on Halo Waypoint, submit a ticket using the link at the bottom of this article so that Halo Support can flag the issue to our developers. Your tickets help us investigate the issue you experienced as well as improve future Twitch Drops.

How to claim Halo Twitch Drop rewards

Step 1: Link your Twitch account to your Halo Waypoint profile:

    1. Go to https://www.halowaypoint.com/ and sign in with your Xbox Live account.
      • Make sure you have signed into the correct Gamertag.
      • You can also access the Halo Waypoint site by selecting Connect on a Halo reward in your Twitch Drops Inventory.
    2. Click on your profile picture and select Settings.
    3. Go to Linked Accounts and select Link Twitch.
    4. If you are not already signed into Twitch, a popup will appear. Sign into your Twitch account.
    5. Confirm you wish to authorize 343 Industries to connect to your Twitch account.
    6. Initially you may see your account is listed as …, but if you refresh your browser window your account should display Status: Account Connected. If that does not work you may need to unlink and relink your account.

Step 2: Claim items from your Twitch Drops Inventory

    • See How to Discover and Claim Drops on Twitch for more information.
    • Drops can only be claimed once per account.
    • Halo: The Master Chief Collection Twitch Drops: after claiming the reward in your Twitch Drops Inventory, sign into Halo Waypoint and navigate to the Twitch Drops Redemption page. The recently claimed Twitch Drop should be listed at or near the top of this page. Select the Claim button listed alongside the recently earned reward to complete the Twitch Drop redemption.

Step 3: Cosmetic items can then be accessed from the Customize menu

    • Some cosmetics only apply to a specific armor core or weapon type.
    • It may take some time for an item to appear. If it does not appear, check that you are signed in with the correct Gamertag, and try restarting your game.

Twitch Drop troubleshooting

If you have completed the requirements for a Twitch Drop but the rewards are not available in-game, follow the steps below to verify your accounts are linked and to manually grant unclaimed rewards.

  1. Navigate to HaloWaypoint.com and, using the Sign In button in the top right corner, sign into your Xbox account.
  2. After signing in, click on your profile’s avatar in the top right corner of the page and select Drops & Code Redemption.
  3. On the Drops & Code Redemption page, select the Twitch Drops tab.
    • If your Halo Waypoint and Twitch accounts are not linked, use the Link Twitch button on this page to connect your accounts.
  4. The Twitch Drops tab shows the status of all Twitch Drops earned on your linked Twitch account. If a Drop’s status is displayed as “Claimed” then it will be available for use in the associated Halo title (either Halo Infinite or Halo: The Master Chief Collection). If there is a “Claim” button in the Status column, the Drop has been earned on Twitch but it was not granted by Halo Waypoint. Click on the “Claim” button to manually grant this item to your account.
  5. After manually granting the item with the “Claim” button, launch either Halo Infinite or Halo: The Master Chief Collection and navigate to the Customize menu to equip your reward.
